Read here which broadcasters in Turkey were fined by the Turkish media authority RTÜK in 2021.

The Turkish Radio and TV Council (RTÜK) has announced its annual report. It has been declared that the Council fined broadcasters 35 times in 2021.

The most fined TV broadcasters appear as following:

  • 12 out of the total 35 fines were addressed to Fox TV. Show TV was fined 5 times, Kanal D 4 times, and TV8 2 times.
  • The fines amounted to 24.5 million TL (~€2.30M*) in total, 12.7 million TL (€1.47M) of it was collected from Fox TV and 4.1 million TL (€338K)  from TV8; whereas Kanal D paid 3.5 million TL (€288K)  and Show TV 3.2 million TL (€264K) in 2021.

RTÜK also had two VOD platforms (EXXEN and Netflix) remove contents from their catalog.
